YOUTH CENTER CAMPAIGN

The Halifax Youth Center fundraising campaign can use your support.  The center was built at a cost of $425,000 and, thus far, $348,500 has been raised.  $76,500 of the building debt still remains.  You can invest in the future of our youth and community and help by making a tax-deductible contribution to this most worthy cause.  Donations to the Halifax Youth Center should be mailed to Halifax United Methodist Church, 105 Wind Hill Drive, Halifax PA  17032.  Donations may also be made by visiting any branch of Susquehanna Bank.

NEW PASTORAL ASSOCIATE

AT HALIFAX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

 

It is with great joy that we welcome David Layser as our new Pastoral Associate.  He began his journey with us on August 2, 2010.  David’s spiritual maturity, gifts, diverse leadership training, experiences, and youthful energy will be an asset to our staff and church ministries.

 

David is a graduate of Messiah College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Religious Studies, Bible Concentration, with a minor in music.  He has traveled to Thailand to study the Thai language and culture.  David was a youth intern for nearly two years at Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he acquired hands-on training with their youth.  He has volunteered in after-school programs with inner-city youth.  At Aldersgate UMC, he volunteered in summer camps with elementary school students and he has been a group member and worship leader with young adults.  David has shown his leadership abilities as the President of Powerhouse Worship Band at Messiah College and worship coordinator of Salt and Light Chapel at Messiah College.

 

He will assist the lead pastor in the following areas of ministries:  Worship,  Preaching, Visitations, Christian Education (K-12) including Sunday School, mid week Youth Bible Study, mid week Kids Club, RockSOLID Youth Ministries, RockSOLID Praise Band, and other ministries as assigned by the lead pastor.
